Our Classes

We offer five different classes during the week. Each with it's own focus and targeted to specific groups.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (GI)

This class teaches the movements, techniques and strategies to grow and learn in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We follow best practices to allow students to accelerate their learning at a pace that makes their investment in themselves pay off. The classes are aimed at self defense and sport BJJ as we compete but we also want to be safe in the world we live in. The Gi class is done in a BJJ Gi (kimono) but it is not reliant on having one.

Submission Wrestling (No Gi)

This class mimic the positive aspects of the regular gi class but does not require a gi. This class is more physically demanding than the regular classes! We recommend No-Gi as a primary resource for those looking for sport BJJ and self defense as a secondary goal.

BJJ Fundamentals

This class is perfect for the beginner who wants to try the sport from the very basics. It gives a simple approach with like minded beginners. It operates on a 16 week cycle but you can hop in at anytime.

Kids BJJ

We offer kids classes in two age ranges - 5-8 (Lil Orca's) and 9-12 (Killer Whales). Lil' Orca's is more play based learning and Killer Whales, while still fun and engaging, mimics the adult structure. We run classes from September to May.

Adult BJJ (All Levels!)

Our Kids Classes

Lil's Orca's

(5-8 Year Olds)

This class is focused on basic skill development in a play based environment. It follows a simple structure; We engage in a play based warm up. We do one focused technique or skill for the day. We end with a game that reinforces that skill or other skills that we have learned. This class has two coaches with a ratio of 7 students to every one adult. (We run classes September to May! The summers are for kids being kids and being outside)

Killer Whales

(9-12 Year Olds)

This class is focused on basic skill development with a heavier focus on correct technique and application of that technique. This follows a structure that mimics an adult class in a kid friendly manner; We engage in a play based warm up. We go over one or two focused techniques or skills. We end the class with focused application of that skill and other skills learned in previous years in friendly randori or sparring. This class may have two coaches or may have one coach depending on the needs of the group. (We run classes September to May! The summers are for kids being kids and and being outside)

Our Facilities

Welcome

Our Reception area is built for those who want to relax, who want to kill a few minutes, or just want to engage in an old school session gaming session. Our arcade machines are free to play, our large 50" in tv screen will display the best of BJJ and our couch lets you pretend you are right at home.

This can come from the happy smiles and warm greeting all of our staff provide, to taking pride in the completions we participate in and celebrating those wins no matter what, to just having what you need, and what you want, when you need it.
